Background

This joint venture between Abri and Thakeham will provide homes that will be some of the most sustainable in the region. With the highest standards in sustainable community creation, over 300 solar panels will be installed across the development of 139 new homes at West Horsley. The homes will also be built with a selection of fast electric charging points and high standards of insulation. The new homes will achieve at least 30% reduction in carbon emissions; 50% more than the policy requirement of 20%. Thakeham and Abri will build a range of two-storey homes and apartments on the green field site; a combination of 74 homes for private sale and 56 affordable homes. The average carbon emissions per dwelling will be only 1.5 tonnes C02 per year – around half the UK average.
