This month, along with many others, we’ve been celebrating Pride here at Abri. While it’s a time to celebrate, reflect, and show our support for LGBTQ+ colleagues, customers, and communities, it’s also a reminder that there’s more to do - and that’s something we’re absolutely committed to.
Creating a workplace where everyone belongs
As an employer, we’re proud to stand as an ally. We know that when people feel safe, valued, and able to bring their true selves to work, they do their best work and feel happier doing it. That’s why inclusion isn’t just something we talk about; it’s something we act on every day.
From signing the HouseProud Pledge to launching our LGBTQ+ colleague network and introducing pronouns in email signatures, we’re building on a culture where everyone feels respected and supported.
To help us make sure we’re getting it right, we rely heavily on what we know about our colleagues. That’s why we actively encourage colleagues to share their EDI data with us, so that we can better understand individual needs and tailor our support in meaningful, impactful ways.
To mark Pride Month, we’ve shared Pride pin badges across our offices so that colleagues can help themselves and show their support. We’ve also been inviting colleagues to reflect on what Pride means to them. Here’s what a few of them told us:
“Pride month means being valued and part of a community without being judged."
“Pride month is a time to celebrate authenticity, courage and the progress that has been made.”
Beyond our offices
Our commitment doesn’t stop with colleagues though - we want our customers and communities to feel that same sense of acceptance and belonging. That’s why we’ve made EDI training essential for all colleagues, so that those connecting with our customers on a daily basis show understanding and support.
Pride reminds us that inclusion doesn’t happen by chance - it happens because we choose it, every single day. Our commitment is to keep listening, keep learning, and keep taking action, because when people truly feel they belong, it doesn’t just benefit individuals - it strengthens our culture, our services, and the impact we make together.
