Abri, one of the largest housing providers in the South of England, has been ranked number 28 in Best Companies’ list of the UK’s 100 Best Large Companies to Work For, and number three in the Housing’s Best Associations to Work For list.
The achievement sees the housing provider, which employs over 1,500 colleagues across the South of England, climb 45 places on the list from its place at number 73 last year.
The organisation’s two rankings have also been reinforced with the news that it’s been accredited with a three star employer rating by Best Companies for ‘world-class’ levels of employee engagement.
Abri’s three star accreditation puts it in the top bracket of those companies participating in the Best Companies survey, and recognises ‘extraordinary’ levels of employee engagement. The accreditation supports its long-term ambitions to achieve a top 10 Best Companies ranking.
Gary Orr, Group Chief Executive at Abri, said:
“To receive both league rankings of recognition from Best Companies and also be awarded a three star accreditation reflects our commitment to employee engagement and the ongoing work that we put in to making Abri an inspiring place for everyone.
“Providing great customer service and building more homes start with a happy workforce - one of the reasons why creating a great place to work is a key focus us. Our colleagues are the number one critical success factor in our accomplishments, so we’re committed to empowering their personal growth, belonging, wellbeing and equity, diversity and inclusion. The voices of colleagues are key to shaping our organisation, and we’re delighted that this award shows that they feel valued, motivated and share our vision and purpose which typically demonstrates high levels of colleague engagement across Abri.”
Best Companies is a national recognition programme which sets the standard for workplace engagement and employee wellbeing. It helps organisations to become better places to work by measuring, improving and recognising engagement. The leagues are entirely guided by a confidential b-Heard colleague engagement survey, which measures how colleagues think and feel about various aspects of their working lives. The highest scoring organisations are ranked in the leagues and receive accreditation.
The accreditation will be used as a benchmark for colleague engagement going forward, and Abri will continue to use feedback from colleagues to make its workplace inclusive and somewhere everyone can thrive.
