Abri partners with Southampton City Council for the delivery of more affordable housing
Abri, one of the south’s leading housing providers, is delighted to announce it is partnering with Southampton City Council (SCC) to provide new homes as part of the council’s Affordable Housing Framework.
Over the next four years, Abri will be working with Southampton City Council and other members of the delivery panel to supply the city with good-quality affordable housing that will be a mixture of social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership properties.
Councillor Lorna Fielker, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Housing at Southampton City Council said:
“I am delighted that the Affordable Housing Framework has taken another step forward as we have now appointed the successful Housing Providers.
We want our residents to live in safe and healthy homes which is why it is so important that we deliver good quality, affordable housing, to ensure our residents can live comfortably and independently for longer.
I look forward to working in partnership with the Affordable Housing Providers to step up the delivery of more affordable housing in Southampton which in turn will improve the health and wellbeing of our residents”.
Like Abri, the council are committed to providing warm, safe and affordable homes. The properties developed on the framework will be a mix of social rent and affordable rent, as well as shared ownership properties which will help people get onto the housing ladder and own a share in their home.
The new delivery Framework will support SCC’s housing target to provide at least 8,000 affordable homes by 2040.
Stephen Lodge, Executive Director Development and Strategic Asset Management said:

The delivery of the homes will be part of Abri’s long-term commitment to provide 10,000 new homes by 2030.”
