We’ve got a simple mission.
To give people the confidence and skills to find a job. Or start their own business. Or get the training and support they need to take the next steps. It’s all about helping people feel financially secure and independent.
Not everyone is born with the same opportunities. But we can help level the playing field. We believe it doesn’t matter where you’re from. It’s about where you’re going. And we’ve got a whole team to help people get there.
How do we do this?
We’ve already helped 2,000+ people. But before 2025, we’re going to help at least 2,000 more by:
- Working with local employers.
- Encouraging people to work in our sector. Housing is fantastic. There’s loads of jobs for people with all interests and skills.
- Working with schools, colleges and universities to create training, job and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Creating new products and services
Voluntary work
There are many reasons why people consider work experience and voluntary work.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain a reference and discover more about themselves and what they find enjoyable. It’s also a great way to ease into a new routine.
As well as giving something back to the community, it’s a great way for people to meet new friends and take away experiences and skills which will look great on a CV!
Volunteers play a massive role in our two community cafés – the Round About Café in Mansbridge, and Café 1759 in Whitehill & Bordon – and our Good Grub Clubs .
“Volunteering at the GGC was an opportunity to get involved and do something useful especially during lockdown. You don’t see the poverty that’s around until you do something like this, it’s been very rewarding to know that I’ve been a part of helping families have a meal. It’s only a few hours of my time a week and it’s been a real privilege to be able to help.” Elsie Legg, volunteer Whitehill & Bordon Good Grub Club
