School uniform swap shop

In August 2022, we partnered with Jones Building Group to bring their school swap shop to St Peter’s Community Centre in Westfield. 

They provided free school uniforms to help families in the Yeovil area. This includes uniforms, PE kits, shoes, and anything else that may be needed for children to start the new school term. 

Our Community Development Officer worked to deliver this alongside Jones Group Community Liaison Coordinator, Josie Bowden.

Twenty-one households came along to the School Swap Shop in August 2022 including ten Abri families. And we held a second session in September 2022, where 15 households attended, five of which were Abri families. We were supported by the Morrisons community champion who provided non-branded uniforms. We’re planning to support more events with Jones Group to support even more families with school aged children in the area.
