We’re raising awareness of different forms of abuse over 16 days. Why? Because we can’t address what we don’t talk about and we want everyone to feel safe and supported to seek help if they need it.
We want to start meaningful conversations and highlight the help available to put a stop to abuse, of all kinds, both now and in the future. We’re also using this time to highlight some amazing new technology which has been designed to help keep people safe.
Today we’re focusing on the Bright Sky app.
What is the Bright Sky app?
Bright Sky is a free mobile app, providing support and information to people affected by domestic abuse. It’s got lots of useful functionality, and can help victims of abuse, employers seeking information about issues like online safety, and friends or family members who are concerned about a loved one.
The app is available on all Android and iOS devices.
What’s on the app?
- The Find Help tool, a unique national directory of specialist domestic abuse support services.
- A secure My Journal function, a safe way to record incidents of abuse via text, audio or video without the content being stored on the phone itself.
- Questionnaires that help to assess the safety of a relationship.
- Contact details of national helplines.
- Links to resources and information.
