It’s been just over two years since construction started at Castle Park View, featuring a landmark 26-storey residential tower in the centre of Bristol and we are very proud to be on track with our partners on this high-quality housing scheme for the City of Bristol in 2022.
Built by Bouygues UK and in collaboration with Linkcity, M&G Real Estate, Homes England, Bristol City Council and architects Chapman Taylor, this 322,000 square-foot regeneration scheme will provide much-needed one, two and three-bedroom homes on the site of a former ambulance station. Once complete, the scheme will deliver 375 crucially needed homes to Bristol’s city centre and Abri will be making 75 of these homes affordable.
To help in creating environmentally sustainable homes, the apartments are connected to the Bristol City Council District Heating Network to deliver affordable, low-carbon heat through a series of underground pipes.
James Pennington, Director of Development at Abri said: “It’s great to be delivering affordable homes in a central Bristol location and to be collaborating on such a landmark development. Through this partnership approach we’re collectively helping to provide more opportunities for sustainable home ownership and these new homes are a significant step in our commitment to build at least 1,000 new homes a year for the next ten years.”
Steady progress continues on all five blocks, having topped out in November 2020. The main tower’s external envelope is also now complete making way for the six-metre castellations which will be installed over the next month.
All remaining blocks are now weathertight and due to commence brickwork and rendering. The Bristol City Council District Heating Network is now supplying heat to the project enabling the apartments to enter the final finishes phase.
