Abri Group is pleased to be working closely with Landport Community Centre in Portsmouth to support the city’s recovery from COVID-19.
Our partnership with the community centre began in March when we provided funding to kickstart a cooked meal project based at Landport Community Centre, for those in need within the local community. We also gave them the use of a vehicle long-term to enable the delivery of the hot meals and food parcels to local families and individuals.
We are proud to be continuing our support of the centre which has just been awarded £8,150 by Awards for All. Partnerships and Events Officer, Hollie Sherred, said:
“I hope that we will carry on working together over the years to come. Abri and Enable Ability, especially through the Landport Community Centre, have a lot to offer the community.”
With this funding, the team at Landport will continue to provide free hot meals for older adults, isolated individuals and families who live locally. They also hope to tackle the isolation many have experienced this year by providing a welcoming hub for people living nearby.
Landport Community Centre is making a positive difference to the lives of many and we’re continuing our support of their work. We recently provided funding for a pilot scheme in Portsmouth which will give reconditioned computers to local families who don’t currently have access to one. And we’re in talks to offer bespoke employment support alongside our existing offer to the community.
