Proposals for 34 new homes off Breach Avenue in Southbourne are to be the subject of public consultation before Abri submits a reserved matters planning application for the development.
Outline planning permission was granted for the site in October 2019 and, as the new owners, Abri Group are seeking feedback from the community on different aspects of the scheme including the appearance of the homes and parking arrangements.
Local residents are being encouraged to view the details and submit their opinions online at www.landatbreachavenue.co.uk or call the Freephone Community Information Line on 0800 294 1304 to leave their feedback verbally. A leaflet is also being delivered to homes closest to the development, with contact information and details of the draft proposals. The deadline for submitting feedback is 19 May 2020.
Under the proposals Abri Group plans to deliver 34 new homes, 11 of which would be affordable. This equates to 32% affordable housing across the site, which is above Chichester District Council’s usual requirement. The proposals also outline a mix of one-bedroom flats and two, three and four-bedroom homes in order to respond to a variety of local needs.
Consideration has also been given to on-site car parking specifically aimed at preventing parking on neighbouring roads and providing a total of 87 parking spaces, which is above the required standard. Abri Group is also proposing to retain and enhance the orchard on the western part of the site to provide a natural buffer between existing homes and the development.
