Housing provider Abri is set to deliver 37 high-quality affordable homes for the local community in Upton, following the exchange of contracts with Wyatt Homes.
The new homes, comprising of one bedroom apartments and maisonettes and two and three bedroom houses, will be allocated through Dorset Council's housing register. This will ensure the homes are offered to people with the greatest housing need and a strong local connection to the area. More than 6,000 households are currently on the waiting list for social housing in Dorset, highlighting the urgent need for new affordable homes in this area, and across the county.

Designed with energy efficiency in mind, all homes at Frenches Grove are expected to achieve an EPC rating of Band B. Equipped with air source heat pumps and solar panels, the homes will be cheaper to run, helping residents save on energy bills while reducing their environmental impact.
Delivered through a Section 106 agreement, which helps secure affordable homes as part of new housing developments, the new homes will strengthen the supply of affordable housing in Poole. The homes are expected to be completed in 2027, at which point they will be acquired by Abri and offered for affordable rent and shared ownership, helping local people access high-quality homes within their community.
