Abri has secured £106,452 in government funding to investigate how heating and hot water services could be improved for 291 households across five of its communities.
The five schemes are part of a comprehensive review Abri is conducting into its entire heat network portfolio, covering systems across more than 3,500 homes, which will help build a clear picture of where investment is needed next.
Specialist studies will look at where the communal heating systems may be losing energy, what could affect their reliability, and which improvements would make the biggest difference to customers. Abri will use the findings to plan future work, with the aim of providing more dependable heating and hot water while helping to keep customers’ energy costs down.
The funding, awarded through Round 11 of the Heat Network Efficiency Scheme, will pay for specialist studies of the communal heating systems across five schemes in Bracknell, Ascot, Windsor and London. Depending on the findings, options could include insulating pipework, addressing leaks or improving the equipment that gives customers control over their heating.
