Our Community Involvement team work year-round to support individuals and families living across the south of England. In the past few weeks, against the backdrop of the COVID-19 national emergency, our services have been required more than ever.
Passionate about cultivating positive partnerships with vital support services, we have worked closely with our partners to understand where our assistance is needed most. In Portsmouth we have facilitated food supplies, funded the quick construction of a community kitchen and loaned delivery vehicles.
Delivered in partnership with Portsmouth City Council, Enable Ability and Portsmouth in the Community, this action is combatting social isolation and tackling financial hardship.
So far we have:
- Given 300 young people access to free school meals
- Provided £4000 in funding
- Provided more than 2,000 meals just during this COVID period
- This means we have provided 100-150 meals per day during COVID-19
Our work does not stop here. We will continue to operate in Portsmouth – and across the region – to support the people in our communities now, and in the future.
From partnering with schools to provide food to low-income families and adapting our community cafes into distribution centres, to providing essential funding to charities and community hubs, we are dedicated to tackling this crisis, together.
