It's Careers Week this week, and we’re excited to share that Nina Allen, Careers and Skills Advisor, is being celebrated by the Heart of the South West Careers Hub for her work with students in South Somerset.
Nina was nominated for her work in Preston School supporting students and colleagues with careers advice and guidance, for always going ‘the extra mile’, being a ‘consummate professional and supportive colleague’ and being ‘a fountain of knowledge’. Nina has adapted the service in direct response to feedback, and attends networks and advisory groups to broaden her knowledge and share latest practice and opportunities with colleagues.
Her nomination said: “As soon as we went into lockdown, Nina arranged for careers interviews to take place online and encouraged and accommodated parent/carer involvement along with their child, embracing the opportunity for a more inclusive careers interview approach than is generally the case.
“Nina really is an inspiring Careers Adviser, leading the way with so many aspects of the Careers provision at Preston School.”
