We’re proud to support the National Housing Federation’s Starts at Home campaign again this year, shining a spotlight on the vital role that Supported Housing plays in transforming lives.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to live in a safe, stable and supportive home, but Supported Housing is more than just a roof over someone’s head. It's about offering tailored support to help individuals overcome challenges, regain or maintain their independence, and ultimately live life to the fullest. Whether it's supporting someone with a disability to live independently or offering a safe haven to those facing homelessness, Supported Housing is a lifeline for many.
Our Partnership Living and Independent Living teams currently support more than 4,000 individuals across various accommodations, from residential care homes to single occupancy flats.
To celebrate with our customers, we organised events in our Oak Lodge scheme in Bordon and at our Laburnum Drive scheme in Somerton. Both were well attended with 26 customers joining us to talk all things Supported Housing and the difference it makes to their lives. Here’s what some of them had to say:
“I've been living here for three years and I love it. I've made lots of friends and my flat is just right for me. I love being here and I feel safe.”
“I've only been here since October, but I settled in quickly and I like that we look out for each other. I drive so I feel pretty self-sufficient, but I know that there's help if I need it.”
