The Mayor of Haslemere, councillor Jacquie Keen, led a celebration to mark the completion of 45 affordable homes in Wey Hill.
Abri, one of the south’s largest housing providers, welcomed the Mayor and councillors from Waverley Borough Council and Haslemere Town Council on a tour of the new development called Skylar View.
The 45 homes are all being let at affordable rents by Abri and have been built by contractor Drew Smith as a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments. During the build process Boulter Mossman acted as the employer's agent and principal designers.
The Mayor of Haslemere, Councillor Jacquie Keen said: “This new development provides much needed homes for Haslemere and I am really pleased to see the quality of the finished homes.
“The traditional exterior is in-keeping with the surroundings while each of the apartments has a spacious modern interior. It was great to see the development first-hand and to see much needed affordable housing coming to a central location in Haslemere.”
Fergus Cruikshank, Head of Land and Planning at Abri said: “It was a pleasure to meet with the Mayor and councillors to mark this significant milestone as the new homes are now ready for the community.
“Abri is committed to building 12,500 new homes by 2030 and here in Haslemere we hope by regenerating this formerly disused land we’re helping to support the local area and provide new homes that people can afford.”
