On Thursday 24 September Abri Group Director of Development, James Pennington showed East Hampshire District representative the Hilltop View development for a project update on the 29 affordable homes coming to Downhouse Road.
Due for completion in 2021, the homes are being developed by Abri and will be built using their own inhouse construction management team, with support from Homes England who have provided grant funding worth over £1.8 million. In addition to the homes, Abri will be investing into the private amenity spaces, on-site parking and an open play area for families to enjoy.
James Pennington Director of Development at Abri said:
“Work on site has now started as part of our commitment to build more homes. Our priorities are to build high quality, safe and, secure homes and create thriving communities. It’s not often that affordable homes are built in a semi-rural area and I look forward to seeing the finished product."
Ranging between one, two and three bedrooms, the new homes will include 12 homes for shared ownership and 17 for affordable social rent and will be launched next May.
Welcoming the news Cllr Julie Butler said:
“Housing solutions are more important now than ever, it’s great to see that affordable homes are being built locally to meet the diverse needs of our society. With private amenity spaces, parking and an open play area, Hilltop View will become an exciting addition to the community “.
