Committed to tackling homelessness with sustainable solutions, we are pleased to be working in partnership with Bristol City Council and Golden Key to allocate six properties to homeless people living in the city.
The project will see families and individuals with general and complex needs housed in safe homes in Bristol, tackling the cycle of rough sleeping many people in the UK still experience. We are also allocating homes to people currently in temporary accommodation to provide a sustainable alternative and further support them long-term.
Two of the allocations will follow the Housing First principles – which offers a tailored approach to successfully supporting individuals with complex needs -, with Golden Key. Drawing on their experience of managing Bristol’s Housing First project, they will provide proactive and bespoke support to meet those resident’s needs and promote personal empowerment in decision-making.
To ensure all residents feel safe and comfortable, and are better equipped to maintain their tenancy, we will work closely with both Bristol City Council and Golden Key, who will support the Housing First residents. Our Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships and Projects, Ralph Facey, said:
“We are committed to playing our part in tackling homelessness, but we can’t do this alone. In the city we are working with Bristol City Council and Golden Key to achieve more for people who are in need of a sustainable home. Through partnership we can collectively do more to tackle homelessness; creating communities and empowering lives.”
Jake Sinetos, Performance and Contracts Manager at Golden Key said: “Housing First is of vital importance at this moment in time. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to end rough sleeping. Housing First offers the best chance to achieve that. We know that once people have their housing sorted, they are in a better place to address their other issues. It is a proven successful approach for people facing multiple disadvantage. We are very much looking forward to our partnership with Abri on this project.”
