Sawyers Close win Gardening in Bloom award
The community spirit is alive in Sawyers Close, Windsor – and they have green fingers! We’re delighted to be ending National Allotments Week on a high note: the Sawyers Close Gardening Group are the proud recipients of the Utterly Upcycled award at the local Garden in Bloom awards.
This category is all about repurposing furniture and items and bringing creativity to gardening. The group were recognised for their fantastic wooden bench display, which is a feature in the Sawyers Close community garden.
This is a great achievement for the group who have been working hard to get residents involved in gardening and activities in the outdoors as part of their eco gardening project. From litter picks to bulb planting, they are busy making the community garden a great place to be. The group are also growing a variety of vegetables with the help of children, families and dedicated individuals.
Our Community Investment team are passionate about supporting residents to take charge in their area and providing the resources to help ideas spring to life. Well done Sawyers Close!
