What makes you you? We want to know! This October we’re joining people around the country to celebrate the difference that unites us as Black History Month returns.
To get talking, connecting and listening we’ll be sharing a series of short videos that focus on this year’s Proud to Be theme. This is all about celebrating who we are and inspiring people to be proud of their unique heritage and culture in their own way.
So, how can you get involved?
It’s super easy and really quick. Simply film yourself saying ‘Hi I’m xx and I’m proud to be…’ and send it to Robyn (PressOffice@abri.co.uk) in the Comms team. We’ll then share your videos throughout October as we reflect, learn and look towards a positive future where equality is a reality.
Top Tips for filming
- Film in landscape
- Try to keep the camera steady. Preferably rest it on something if possible.
- If you have a good smartphone, film on this as it should provide good quality footage.
- Stand or sit in the center of the frame if possible.
- Keep in mind the lighting – try to film in daylight near a window. Make sure there isn’t too stark of a shadow on one half of your face. If you sit facing a window that can work well.
- Check that the audio is clear and not muffled. Sit in a quiet room away from too much noise.
- If you have earphones with a mic attached, use them as will help keep your audio clear.
Don’t want to be on video? You can still take part
Not everyone likes being on camera, we totally get it. But we don’t want that to stop anyone taking part so if you still want to share what the Proud to Be theme means to you, let us know in a short blog instead.
Whether you’re a colleague, customer or partner – we want to hear from you. Let’s celebrate Black History Month by raising our voices and celebrating the rich diversity of who we are.
