As of today, Monday 5 October, we become Abri. As well as launching our new name we are also sharing our corporate strategy which outlines our plans for the next five years. You can read this here
You’ll recall that in November 2019 Radian and Yarlington officially came together as one organisation. And during the past 11 months we’ve been working together, along with our customers, the community and our partners, to reach this point.
Abri means shelter, and providing shelter is our purpose. So, it’s not just a word, but a driver for achieving great things for as many people as possible.
Group Chief Executive, Gary Orr, said:
“As we move forward as one organisation, we are delighted to launch our new name, brand identity and strategic priorities. Since November, we have been working closely with our customers to shape the direction of Abri and understand everything they expect from us as a landlord and service provider. Our customers and communities are at the heart of our organisation and their feedback and ideas are reflected in our new corporate strategy. We believe everyone has the right to a safe, warm, and sustainable home, and to be part of a community where everyone has the opportunity to belong, grow and thrive.
“While our new organisation is bigger and stronger, we remain committed to continuing to serve our local communities and staying in touch with our customers.
“We plan to do more to tackle the housing crisis and invest more in our existing homes. We’ll build at least 10,000 high quality, sustainable homes over the next decade, offering a choice of affordable tenures and home ownership options. We will invest £215 million in our existing homes, ensuring they are sustainable and support our plans to play our part in tackling climate change. As part of our commitment to addressing the housing crisis, we are continuing to develop our Homelessness Prevention Strategy and helping to end homelessness for good.”
We’ve also just recently welcomed Wayne Morris as Chair of Abri. He said:
“In forming our partnership last year, we brought together the expertise and financial capabilities of two strong organisations. Abri gives us a new, stronger platform to move forward at pace to meet our future ambitions.”
Together, we will increase life chances, create equal opportunity and provide more – and better – homes.
