Here at Abri our Partnership Living team helps more than 400 people with specific needs by providing high quality, specialist housing management services across 90 different schemes.
A variety of accommodation is offered including residential care homes, shared houses and bungalows, and single occupancy bungalows and flats. The key aim of the Partnership Living team is to offer security, increased independence and quality of life to those most in need in our communities. By working in partnership we can achieve more for those living in supported housing schemes.
In May we signed our 8th lease with The Society of St James (SSJ), to provide Mental Health Pathway homes on the outskirts of central Southampton, in Mansbridge. The homes are leased to The Society of St James, a Southampton-based homelessness charity, who work in partnership with Southern Health to provide ‘step out’ from hospital accommodation, supporting mental health and easing bed-blocking in mental health hospitals and in rehab centres. We look forward to continuing our great working relationship with SSJ and providing more ‘move-on’ accommodation options for those who need it most.
Avril Ansell, our Partnership Living Manager, said, ‘It’s been such a positive piece of partnership working and is such a clear fulfilment of our strategic aim around community, as we’re building on our relationships with both the NHS and also a specialist housing management provider to help people to move on with their lives in a really clear way. I know that my team has really valued seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they’ve seen the properties that they are about to move into, knowing that they are hopefully turning another significant corner to improved health and wellbeing’.
Having a place to call home, establishing roots and finding opportunities for personal development can make a significant difference peoples’ lives. We’re excited to continue working in partnership to provide these homes for years to come.
