September 2026 update
Abri Octavia has received funding from the government’s Cladding Safety Scheme to remediate one of the buildings within the Bourbon Lane estate: 1–18 Normandy Place, which is a five-storey block with 18 apartments and is the tallest building at Bourbon Lane.
This funding allows Abri to move forward with the remediation of Normandy Place’s external walls. We have appointed a principal contractor, Guildmore Ltd, and aim to start this work in 2027.
Although Abri is initially focusing on Block 1 Normandy Place, as this is the building we have funding for, we have already developed the remediation proposals for the remaining buildings and will keep you updated on progress.
While the primary objective of the project is to ensure the buildings meet the latest fire safety requirements, we are also committed to preserving the high design standards. In developing the proposals, Abri has worked closely with the Council's Urban Design team to identify materials and solutions that enhance resident safety while respecting the character and appearance of this award-winning development.
As the proposed remediation works will alter the external appearance of the buildings, and given Bourbon Lane's recognised design quality, a full planning application will be required before works can commence.
Abri held a drop-in event and virtual event with residents and the local community in early September to bring them up to speed with its proposals.
Following this, Abri aims to submit the planning application to Hammersmith & Fulham Council later this autumn.
