Equality, diversity, and inclusion

Creating a culture of belonging

We’re proud to be building an inclusive workplace where different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives are welcomed and celebrated. That's why we're continually listening, learning and taking action to ensure every colleague feels seen, heard and supported.

Colleague-led networks

Our networks help create a sense of community, provide support and influence positive change across Abri. They bring together colleagues with shared experiences and interests, helping us learn from one another and build a culture where everyone belongs.

Training and support

We're committed to helping colleagues feel confident and informed when it comes to inclusion and belonging. That's why we provide a range of learning opportunities, including allyship training, accessibility awareness, neurodiversity guidance and resources that help colleagues better understand different experiences and perspectives.

Celebrating diversity

Throughout the year, we celebrate and recognise a range of cultural, religious and awareness events, creating opportunities for colleagues to learn more. From Pride and Black History Month to Neurodiversity Celebration Week and International Women's Day, we create spaces for meaningful conversations and shared learning.

Accessibility support

We're committed to removing barriers and creating an environment where everyone can succeed. From workplace adjustments and accessible learning resources to specialist equipment and tailored support, we work with colleagues to understand individual needs and provide the right support throughout their career with us.

Being part of the Abri DCI (disability and chronic illness) forum has also been a great support – knowing that there are other people who understand some of your challenges, but also being able to help people with some of your own learnings has been really valuable.  It’s also reassuring to know that Abri wants to support people facing mental and physical challenges.

“Living with chronic pain is HARD – but I am still me, and able, with assistance, to offer something in my job.  The support from Abri has meant I continue to enjoy my job and I think/hope I am doing ok at it.” - Laura

“Abri have always been open and embracing of people being their authentic selves. When my wife and I were going through our adoption journey to become parents, I was well supported from all areas, and I have never felt lesser or different to anyone else. There is a great culture of zero acceptance towards any behaviours of intolerance.” - Zoë
