We’re making some changes to Inspired to Achieve (i2A). i2A is a free employment information and support service that was a subsidiary of legacy Yarlington.
As you may know, Radian and Yarlington formed a partnership and in October 2020 became Abri. The way we operate employment, support and training services across our legacy areas is very different. As part of becoming one organisation, we’re making some changes to i2A.
From 30 June, we’ll be transferring i2A colleagues and external contracts to The Swaythling Housing Society Limited. Abri is a trading name of The Swaythling Housing Society Limited. Essentially this means all employees will be under Abri and that our employment and community investment activities will be all branded Abri. All existing and new customers we provide employment and training for will continue to be supported and receive the same services under Abri.
Our Community Investment Strategy sees us investing £15million in our communities between 2020-2025. It is a significant investment; bringing i2A under Abri branding will help our communities link the investment in their area with Abri. It will also support our ambition to deliver better outcomes for our customers by creating one approach to our employment and community services.
We’re really proud of everything that our i2A colleagues have achieved. This change will see us build on their successful performance as a team and deliver our central mission to create communities and empower lives.
We understand that change can be difficult, but we’re confident combining our services to support our investment in each area will guide positive change for our communities. And, we’re not going to shut it all down overnight. We’re making changes gradually to make sure we continue to get referrals and support our communities.
Introducing Inspiring Futures
We’re also excited to announce the new project name for our work with schools – Inspiring Futures. This name was suggested by our schools team colleagues. And we think it’s perfect.
Our schools team deliver clear and informed careers advice for 11-19 year olds and their parents/carers in 14 schools across south Somerset. They help raise aspirations, enable young people to make informed choices, provide information on pathways to post-16 opportunities, and prepare young people for key transition stages.
