Moving into her new home in Poole at the start of 2026 has given Charlotte and her son the fresh start they were hoping for.
Charlotte used to live in a one-bedroom flat, so having more space has made a real difference to everyday life. From the moment Charlotte viewed the property, she felt this could be the right home for her family.
Seeing how eager she was to move, her Housing Partner, Sarah, helped make the process as smooth as possible, arranging for Charlotte to collect her keys on the same day.

Since moving in, Charlotte has felt supported by our housing team. Whether using My Abri to report an issue or find information, she has found it quick and easy to access the help she needs. When a power cut affected her home, she was able to get in touch and quickly find out what was happening.
Charlotte has joined some of Abri's Community Action Days, which have given her the opportunity to speak directly with our teams and access support. When she raised concerns about an unusually high water bill, her Housing Partner, Sarah, took the time to listen and connected her with the right colleague, who helped her contact the water company and get the issue resolved.

As well as enjoying the support available, Charlotte loves the location of her new home, with its good transport links and nearby schools. And with more space than she had before, she’s even been able to create a dedicated baking cupboard, one of her favourite features of the home.
Charlotte’s new home has helped her create a better future for herself and her son, giving them the stability and quality of life they deserve.
How we’re investing in our homes
Year-on-year, we continue to invest record amounts into our existing homes. In 2025/26 we spent £135 million on repairs maintenance including £4 million in addressing the root cause of damp and mould, £19 million in building and fire safety works, and £14 million into making our homes more energy efficient.
Our Community Action Days bring the community together. These events are a chance to carry out minor repairs, provide tenancy advice, and improve local shared spaces. We held our first events in London this year, reaching 161 people. These conversations highlighted issues including anti-social behaviour, caretaker support, and pest control, meaning we were able to respond to immediate concerns and spot ways we could help.
