Since moving into her home in 2015, the shared garden has been one of Elizabeth’s favourite features.
She has been encouraged to make the space her own and takes great pride in helping it flourish.

Our grounds maintenance team has supported Elizabeth with planting and repotting a cherished acer tree, which was planted in memory of her late sister. For Elizabeth, these moments reflect a team that genuinely cares, not just about the environment they maintain, but about the people who live there.
Being able to sit outside, hang out the washing, watch the birds and enjoy the garden during the spring and summer months is something she really treasures. She has even set aside a small area to grow wildflowers, attracting butterflies to the foxgloves and helping to support local wildlife.
As she experiences some mobility challenges, Elizabeth has particularly appreciated the team’s help with tasks such as repotting plants, which she finds difficult to manage herself.
Whether it’s the grounds team, engineers carrying out annual checks or colleagues completing repairs, she finds our team consistently approachable, helpful and kind. She looks forward to seeing familiar faces, often taking the opportunity to stop for a chat or ask for advice.
Maintaining safe, clean and well-managed neighbourhoods
Our Grounds and Estates Service helps keep our neighbourhoods clean, safe and well maintained. We look after communal indoor and outdoor areas, including green spaces, pathways, parking areas, blocks of flats, bin stores and bulk waste areas.
In 2025-26, our team completed more than 35,000 grounds maintenance visits and over 44,000 communal block cleans. We also carried out 22,000 tree inspections, with more than 35,000 trees now recorded using our new mapping technology to help us manage and maintain them.
Alongside this, we completed more than 10,200 bulk waste removal jobs, helping to keep shared spaces clean, clear and accessible.
