Career development

We’re passionate about creating opportunities for people to thrive, in their lives, and in their careers. Whether that’s by building on skillset, learning something new or looking at career development. This means we invest in our colleagues through our leader and colleague development frameworks.

Learning opportunities

Colleagues have access to professional online learning resources, face-to-face and online training sessions and development programmes. Colleagues can also request external training to be paid for by Abri, and have access to internal and external coaches and mentors.

Housing Professional of the Future

Our Housing Professional of the Future programme helps colleagues to connect to our purpose, understand why we are here, what we do as a housing association, and why it’s so important.

From our core purpose and history of social housing to sustainable housing and tenancy management, colleagues gain the skills and knowledge needed to become a housing professional.

Housing Leaders

We believe that to create an inspiring place to work, we must help develop strong and effective leaders. Leaders who lead with ambition and pace whilst creating an inclusive, safe environment and support the business to grow and thrive.

That’s where our Housing Leaders programme comes in. It supports existing leaders to further develop their skills, broaden their networks and build on confidence while making a difference for customers and communities.

Hear from one of our colleagues:

“What a great programme. I learnt so much not only about myself but new skills that will help me lead my team further. The future of Abri is an exciting one to be part of.”

Aspiring Managers

Our Aspiring Managers programme is designed specifically for colleagues who are not currently line managing but are interested in progressing into a manager role in the future.
